- The Dirtybird co-founder will play a one-off gig at Wrongbar this month.
Fresh from a mini-tour in Europe last month, San Francisco's Justin Martin is set to headline Wrongbar in Toronto.
The DJ and producer first jumped into the international spotlight with his productions for Ben Watt’s UK-based Buzzin’ Fly Records. Since then, he has drawn consistent praise with Dirtybird, the label he founded with Claude VonStroke in 2005 that is now one of the West Coast's best-known electronic establishments. Last year the imprint celebrated its fifth anniversary, and now claims more than 40 releases (plus a sub-label, Mothership) to its credit. Meanwhile, their parties around the Bay Area, from their residency at Mezzanine to barbecues in Golden Gate Park, have become a widely-loved local institution. At the party next Friday, expect Martin to bring his cheerful blend of deep, techy house music to the Toronto faithful.
