The Ed Banger mainstay has scored the next film by French director Romain Gavras.
French electronic artist SebastiAn has composed the soundtrack for Notre Jour Viendra, a film by director Romain Gavras.
Gavras has done a lot of work with indie and electro artists in the past, having directed videos for DJ Mehdi and Simian Mobile Disco as well as Justice's tour film, Across the Universe. But music fans are mostly likely to know him from the video for M.I.A.'s "Born Free," a controversial clip in which redheads are rounded up and shot, presumably as a comment on US border control. Though the plot for Notre Jour Viendra ("Our Day Will Come") is still under wraps, gingers are a central part of this one too (in fact, it was originally titled Redheads).
According a press release, SebastiAn breaks away from his usual hard-hitting style on the soundtrack, opting instead for suspenseful ambiance to suit the film's mood. The record will be the third film score by a French electronic artist to come out in the past 12 months, following Tron Legacy by Daft Punk and Rubber by Mr Oizo and Justice's Gaspard Augé.
