  • The Goethe Institute in Brussels and local non-profit Meaksuma have organized a concert at Recycled Art next month, curated by Berlin techno innovator Moritz von Oswald. As the partner to Mark Ernestus in projects like Basic Channel, Rhythm & Sound, Maurizio, Phylyps, and Quadrant, Oswald is one of the most influential figures in techno. These days, when he's not cutting records at Dubplates and Mastering, he stays busy with his new band, the Moritz von Oswald Trio, which features fellow avant-garde producers Vladislav Delay and Max Loderbauer (of Sun Electric and nsi.). Oswald has booked himself twice at the concert next month: once with the trio, and once for a DJ set with with vocalist Paul St. Hilaire, AKA Tikiman, a common feature on records by Rhythm & Sound. Two leading UK bass producers will play at the event as well: Peverelist, the artist behind Punch Drunk Records, and Digital Mystikz member Mala, who did a remix of the Moritz von Oswald Trio's latest single, Restructure 2. The night's warm-up set comes from Mark Ainley, who co-runs the esteemed experimental and world music imprint Honest Jon's. The venue will be kitted out with a Funktion One sound system specially for this event.
