- Lipservice will release the Chicken Lips member's first album next month.
Next month, UK DJ and producer Dean Meredith will release his first album as The Rhythm Odyssey, entitled Metaphysical Transition.
Meredith has done his share of solo work in the past, mostly under names like Goat Dance, Rogue Cat and White Light Circus. But his best known work was with the '90s dance outfit Bizarre Inc. and its spin-off group, Chicken Lips, which just released an album and a greatest hits compilation last year. As The Rhythm Odyssey, Meredith indulges his love of old school house, crafting lo-fi club tunes whose cheesy vocals and dusty pianos make a clear nod to late '80s Chicago. Metaphysical Transition will be his first solo album, and will feature mostly new tracks along with selections from his 2009 12-inch The Rhythm Odyssey. It will see release via Lipservice, Chicken Lips' boutique label.
