- 808 State, Propoganda and Frankie Goes to Hollywood all feature on the UK label's double-disc collection.
Early next month, London label Salvo will release The Art of the 12", a collection of tunes from classic imprint ZTT.
Founded in 1983, ZTT was a leading purveyor of pop and new wave in the '80s, with famous records from Grace Jones, Art of Noise and the chart-topping Frankie Goes to Hollywood. In the '90s the label stayed commercially successful with artists like Seal and Tom Jones, and over the past decade they've been mostly silent, aside from a steady stream of remix and greatest hits collections. The Art of the 12" draws mostly from the early end of ZTT's catalog, plus a few cuts from the early '90s. Comprising more than 20 tracks, many of which have so far been available only on vinyl, the double-disc package features extended mixes of classics like 808 State's "Pacific 909," and, naturally, Frankie's "Relax."
