  • German electronic artist Frank Bretschneider will release a new LP next month called Komet. The new album takes its name from one of Bretschneider's old aliases; though he's worked mostly under his real name for the past seven years, in the late '90s and early '00s he released a lot of records (including seven albums) under the name Komet, then revived the pseudonym last fall for a digital EP on False Industries. Stylistically, Komet is a notable departure from Bretschneider's standard fare: atmospheric techno tunes with 4/4 grooves, as opposed to the severely angular beat experiments that dominated records like Rhythm. Instead of his own Raster-Noton imprint, the album will come out on Shitkatapult (a first for Bretschneider). It will be his second in the past 12 months, following last summer's visually enhanced EXP 2CD. Tracklist 01. Subharchorded Waves 02. Like a Lizard in the Sun 03. Echotron 04. Urania 05. Flight 09 06. Flutter Flitter 07. Twisted in the Wind Shitkatapult will release Komet on February 4th, 2011.
