  • The Brooklyn Electronic Music Festival will take place on December 18th, with more than two dozen DJs and live acts playing on two stages in Williamsburg. Now in its third year, BEMF is presented by local promoters MeanRed and Famous Friends. Though the number of artists billed rightfully earns the term "festival," previous editions have been no-frills affairs, with DJs and dance punk acts at The Yard and The Old American Car Factory. This year the organizers have taken things up a notch with two new venues: Public Assembly and The Williamsburg Hall of Music, a larger space that's recently housed Booka Shade, Caribou and Toro Y Moi. The lineup for this year is as eclectic as ever, with party jocks like Sinden and Treasure Fingers bumping elbows with the likes of Javelin and local bass artist FaltyDL. And this being Brooklyn in 2010, the bill wouldn't be complete without a bit of witch house, taken care of here by oOoOO and Creep. Chicago hip-hop artist Kid Sister will make an appearance as well.
