- D-Bridge has filled two 12-inches and an LP with new songs from Scuba, Skream, ASC and many more.
London drum & bass artist Darren White, better known as D-Bridge, will release a compilation called Mosaic - Volume 1 early next year on his own Exit Records.
Through his own productions and through the records he puts out on Exit, White has spent much of his career pushing a spacey, open-ended sound that's very far removed from what the words "drum & bass" call to mind for many people. As the label's first full-length compilation, Mosaic looks poised to do the same. "This album truly represents the more experimental side of drum & bass as opposed to the crash-bang-wollop which seems to be the only side portrayed by the mainstream media today," says the label in a press release. "Hopefully [it] will manage to reach the people that thought this forward-thinking music was left behind in the '90s and let them know that it's still alive and well and still capable of throwing up some surprising and unpredictable results."
Mosaic features new tracks by some of UK bass music's most important artists, alongside a group of relatively unknown up-and-comers. In the first camp you've got Scuba, Skream, Commix and current RA podcaster ASC. In the second are recent Exit signee Code 3 and debutants like Synkro, Mode and Indigo. Naturally, D-Bridge contributes a few of his own tracks, as do his frequent studio partners Instra:mental. The compilation will see release as a four-vinyl package and double-CD at the end of January, preceded by two 12-inch samplers, the first of which hits stores in early December.

Exit will release Mosaic - Volume 1 on January 31st, 2011. The two sampler 12-inches will come out on December 13th and January 17th.
