  • Dial Records' Lawrence and RNDM will appear in London next week for Buzzin' Fly's Winter Party, the third in their series of seasonal bashes this year. Lawrence, real name Peter M. Kersten, co-runs Dial with Carsten Jost, and the imprint has been at least partly responsible for the Hamburg deep house & techno renaissance of recent years. Aside from his label and artist duties—also recording as Sten—Kersten has helped to unearth talents for the label such as John Roberts, Efdemin and Pantha Du Prince. Emerging Austrian artist RNDM has chalked up tracks for Dial label compilations over the last two years, plus split releases for Dial sublabel Laid and Efdemin's vinyl-only imprint Naif. The pair will appear in Cable's room one next Friday, up against Buzzin' Fly's head honcho Ben Watt, and longtime resident Chris Woodward. The club's second space will feature a distinctly different take from the main room, under the guidance of Dalston's Disco Bloodbath collective. Founding members Damon Martin and Ben Pistor will be on hand for a promised four-hour set that will work its way through through many shades of disco. Joining them will be New York DJ and radio personality Tim Sweeney, whose eclectic mix of disco, Detroit techno and other electronic obscurities will reflect his cult weekly radio program, Beats In Space. Tickets for the Buzzin' Fly Winter Party can still be found right here on RA.
