  • East London collective Tender Love will host electro-funk boffin Jimmy Edgar at their next party in December. First finding acclaim in the mid 2000's as a teenage producer, the Detroit was noticed early by the influential Warp Records, resulting in a string of releases that included popular tracks like "My Beatz" and "I Wanna Be Your STD". Further releases under numerous monikers honed in on Edgar's signature synth-driven electro sound, most recently showcased with his new XXX longplayer for !K7 Records, choice cuts from which will likely form the core of his live audio-visual performance for Tender Love. Edgar will be joined in the Hoxton Square venue by fellow retro-futurist L-Vis 1990, co-founder of our current feature label Night Slugs, with his mish-mash of dubstep, fidget basslines, booty house and UK garage. Manchester's Illum Sphere, whose deconstructed hip hop has made a splash via hometown imprint Fat City, will also journey down to London for the bash, and the night will be topped off with an appearance from the Tender Love Soundsystem DJs. Tickets for Tender Love Soundsystem with Jimmy Edgar can be found right here on RA.
