  • Berghain will host a rare performance from dark ambient artist Brian Williams, AKA Lustmord, later this week. The concert will mark Williams' third live performance in all of his three-decade career (the second was last weekend at Unsound Festival in Poland, and the first was four years ago at the Church of Satan's 40th anniversary bash). On record, Lustmord is known for producing deeply ominous ambient pieces made up of sprawling drones and cinematic flourishes—a sound that should perfectly suit Berghain's foreboding interior. He debuted in 1981 with a self-titled album and released more than a dozen others over the years, while also collaborating with groups like The Melvins, Nurse With Wound and the influential industrial group SPK. Lustmord will be supported by psychedelic drone up-and-comer Oneohtrix Point Never. The event is part of Berghain's Elektroakustischer Salon, a series of midweek experimental concerts that has recently hosted Fennesz, Merzbow and Wolf Eyes to name a few.
