- The UK club veterans have mixed Ministry of Sound's latest compilation.
Veteran UK jocks Fabio and Grooverider have mixed the next edition of Ministry of Sound's Masterpiece series.
Since the first edition in 2008 by Francois K, the Masterpiece series has taken a historical approach to the commercial mix format, presenting hefty three-disc collections by some of the most experienced jocks running. Fabio and Grooverider use their mixes to look back on the various stages of their careers. "Our vision for the compilation was to attempt to go through the true history of Fabio & Grooverider," says Fabio. "We've been on the scene for decades now and have been fortunate to have seen everything from the rare groove explosion to acid house and, of course, drum & bass."
The first two discs show each artist working on his own, with Fabio selecting some rare groove favorites and Grooverider harking back to acid house's peak. The pair come together on the third disc for a drum & bass mix that pulls in tracks from 1991 to 2003. The package is due in stores today.
