- The American beatsmith is ready to release his debut album on Ghostly International.
Zachary Saginaw, AKA Shigeto, will release his debut album this fall on Ghostly International.
Entitled Full Circle, the record follows in the tradition of Ghostly artists like Dabrye and Tycho, delivering syncopated hip-hop rhythms with IDM-style electronic sounds. Saginaw performed most of the beats by hand, and harvested many of the album's sounds over the past four years with his trusty Tascam mini-recorder, including "glasses, chains, breathing, children, family meals, monks singing in cathedrals, walks in the south of France, and good friends offering their musical skill." Full Circle features two odes to Ann Arbor, the Michigan city where both Saginaw and Ghostly International were born. The record comes just two years after Saginaw's debut EP on Moodgadget.
