  • German producer Askel Schaufler, better known Superpitcher, is set to descend on Australia next month, playing a string of dates across the country. For most, Schaufler stands as the very epitome of the sound of the Cologne-based Kompakt imprint, with his warm but bouncy variations of house and techno. Over the years, he has released extensively on the German label, most notably his debut single Herion, and his famed full-length LP Save The World alongside Kompakt boss Michael Mayer under their Supermayer guise. As a DJ, he is particularly strong. Look no further than his recent RA podcast for the smooth blend of cheerful melodies and bumpy basslines he is well accustomed to serving up from behind the decks. In a similar fashion, his well-recieved sophomore LP Kilimanjaro, released earlier this month, finds Schaufler in good form. Shaufler will be kicking his Australian tour off with a date in Melbourne on 23rd October, then head north for a set in Brisbane courtesy of Drop and tDmusic. The Sydney finale will be hosted by Chemistry and Subsonic, who have locked in a Halloween-themed cruise on Sydney Harbour for October 30th. Tickets to the cruise are available from RA Tickets.
