  • Snowbombing have announced the first confirmed act for this year's edition of their annual festival in Austria: rave outfit The Prodigy. Described by RA's Steve McConville as "Bestival up in a mountain," Snowbombing lures thousands of revelers into the alps each winter for four days of parties and a bit of skiing and snowboarding on the side. The music program in the past has often been very eclectic, with last year's event hosting DJs like Ewan Pearson, Adam Beyer and Todd Terje alongside acts like Vitalic, Scratch Perverts and Tayo, while bands such as Doves and Friendly Fires added some rock appeal. According to Snowbombing founder Gareth Cooper, the trio will perform in "a forest clearing with a wooden stage surrounded by the snow topped mountains of the alps." So far, The Prodigy are the only act confirmed for 2011, but RA will reveal the first full announcement in early October.
