- The Italians Do It Better sub-label has a new collection featuring Bottin, Martin Vogal and Mike Simonetti.
Perseo, a disco edits sublabel of Italians Do It Better, is ready to release its first compilation.
Simply entitled Perseo: Edits Volume 1, the CD collects tunes from the first three 12-inches on this recently established imprint. Much like its parent label, Perseo has a lo-fi and vaguely retro sound, which works particularly well with rehashed pop, rock and disco tunes. Bottin, Martin Vogel and Italians Do It Better founder Mike Simonetti all contribute their handiwork, revamping such unlikely selections as The Steve Miller Band's "Fly Like An Eagle" and Bruce Springsteen's "Tougher Than The Rest," though each song has been discretely re-named. Though the compilation won't see wide release until next month, it's currently available for order through Italians Do It Better's official website .
