  • Cologne-based artist Senking will release his next album, Pong, this September on Raster-Noton. As its title suggests, Senking's new LP is inspired by the classic 2-D ball-and-paddle game. Just how that arcade staple influenced the sounds of the record isn't exactly clear, but according to a press release, Pong shows Senking playing with "stretched dubstep rhythms" complete with sub-basslines, hints of melody and atmospheres that evoke Angelo Badalamenti's soundtracks to David Lynch films. All of the songs are previously unreleased, though Senking debuted many of them at Club Transmediale earlier this year in Berlin. In true Raster-Noton fashion, there's more to the CD than just music: a 3-D "interpretation" of the original Pong is included in the data portion of the disc. Tracklist 01. Unlighted 02. Luma 03. Paintbug in My Eye 04. Death by Drowning 05. Low Flow 06. Breathing Trouble 07. Mimi 08. V8 09. Skidozer 301 Raster-Noton will release Senking's Pong on September 6th, 2010.
