Pantha du Prince tours with Blonde Redhead

- The master of melancholy techno will hit more than 20 cities this summer and fall.
- German producer Hendrik Weber, AKA Pantha Du Prince, is gearing up for a European tour this summer, followed by a trek across North America with acclaimed indie rockers Blonde Redhead. At first glance, the pairing of Weber and Blonde Redhead seems a bit strange: the former specializes in atmospheric and emotional techno, while the latter group are a long-running staple of artsy post-punk. But Pantha Du Prince has more crossover appeal than initially meets the eye: his last album Black Noise saw release on seminal indie imprint Rough Trade, and featured guest appearances by artists like Panda Bear and Tyler Pope of !!! and LCD Soundsystem. Pantha du Prince will kick off his own European tour next Thursday in Leeds, and will play more than a dozen gigs by the end of August, including slots at festivals like Strom and Standon Calling and an appearance at Cocoon's weekly party in Ibiza. His jaunt with Blonde Redhead consists of smaller shows at clubs in the US and Canada, beginning in October at the Electric Factory in Philadelphia and finishing up a month later in New York.
