  • Norwegian drone artist Svarte Greiner (AKA Erik Skodvin, best known as one half of Deaf Center) is ready to release his next album, entitled Penpals Forever (And Ever). Despite its lighthearted title, Skovin's latest record is as cold and eerie as anything he's released to date. According to a press release, it tells the story of a dead Baroque painter and "his telekinetic correspondence with a flightless bird." Musically, the album crafts surreal landscapes out of guitar-based drones, incoherent vocal samples and countless unidentifiable found sounds. Three of the tracks are previously unreleased, while the first two are re-mastered versions of pieces that originally appeared on Penpals Forever, a cassette released in 2008 that was limited to 180 copies. Tracklist 01. Untitled 02. Untitled 03. Untitled 04. Untitled 05. Untitled Digitalis will release Penpals Forever (And Ever) on August 3rd, 2010.
