  • Andrew Weatherall, Danny Rampling and David Holmes will head up an all-British cast of DJs at next month's Vintage festival. Taking place at the Goodwood Estate in Chichester, Vintage is a new event organised by English fashion designer Wayne Hemingway, who wishes to inject a bit of glamour back into the UK festival circuit. Taking its inspiration from British fashions and trends from the '40s up until now, there will be plenty of themed entertainment on offer, including a Northern soul ballroom and also a roller disco. The bigger stages will see live performances from disco legends Kid Creole & The Coconuts, plus ex-Earth Wind & Fire guitarist Al McKay, who'll be performing plenty of his old hits with his new band. Heaven 17, The Wailers and Buzzcocks will also make appearances, and Peter Hook will be leading an orchestra through Joy Division's Unknown Pleasures album. As far as DJs are concerned, Hemingway has specifically chosen to feature an all-British cast, covering disco, house, reggae and Northern soul. Greg Wilson, Ashley Beedle, A Guy Called Gerald, Idjut Boys, Horse Meat Disco, Graeme Park, Optimo and Stevie Kotey will all man the decks, while turntable stalwarts Les Spaine, DJ Bob Jones, Don Letts and Keb Darge will represent the older generation of homegrown jocks.
