  • Clone has teamed up with digital retailer zero" to launch Clone D/G/T/L, an mp3 download service integrated into the Dutch label's online store. The new portion of the site will sell digital versions of releases from Clone's exclusive distribution catalog in 320kbps mp3 format. It will also provide access to all titles in the zero" catalog, which comprises over 1,000 labels and artists. The digital releases will be listed with staff comments and recommendations, just as the shop's vinyl and CDs are now. Serge Verschuur of Clone Records says he's been a fan of zero" ever since the site launched in 2008, both for its impressive selection and its overall feel, which tries to combine the functionality of an online store with the character of a physical record shop. "When we decided to expand our retail business by offering digital music downloads, they were the obvious people to approach," he says. Clone D/G/T/L is set to go live on June 17th. To mark they occasion, they'll be throwing a rooftop party in Barcelona during Sonar, featuring Serge, Marco Passarani and Clara Moto among others.
