- The London-based dubstep duo will debut their live show with a five-date UK tour, which kicks off this weekend.
Dusk + Blackdown will embark on their first ever UK tour this weekend.
Dan "Dusk" Frampton and Martin "Blackdown" Clark have been a part of London's dubstep scene since day one, both DJing and producing, with Clark also chronicling the growth of the sound through his blog and Pitchfork column. The tour will be the duo's first throughout the UK, and their first date will mark their debut live performance. The Albany in South East London is where it all kicks off on Saturday 5th June, before moving on to Brighton, Manchester and Reading later this month. The final show will be at the Kendal Brewery in Cumbria on Saturday, September 11th.
Many of the tracks on Blackdown's 2008 debut album, Margins Music, attempted to fuse dubstep with grime vocals, a dynamic they'll recreate live with the help of fellow Londoner Durty Goodz. Farrah and Japjit Kaur will provide additional vocals, and attendees are also promised additional musicians on tabla and keyboards. Keysound newcomers LHF will support on all dates, with James Blake set to play in London, Kowton in Reading, LV in Brighton, and Scratcha DVA, Grievous Angel and Vibzin in Manchester.
