  • Jena-based collective Feindrehstar will release their debut album, Vulgarian Knights, this summer on Musik Krause. Consisting of seven live instrumentalists, Feindrehstar blends elements of house, techno, hip-hop, jazz and broken beat—a concoction the band terms as "krautclub." The group have been together for about ten years, and have so far released four records on their own label, Human Instinct, plus an EP on Sonar Kollektiv. For Vulgarian Knights, they enlisted the help of Michael Baumann, better known as Soulphiction or Jackmate, who lent his expertise in rhythm construction. The album was recorded mostly at Jazzanova's studio Berlin. To get an idea of what Feindrehstar is all about, take a look at this cheery little video they put together in support of the album: Tracklist 01. Knochenbrecher 02. Fete de la Kita 03. Arabikanana 04. Novation 05. Tyurkiimsbour 06. The Mask with the Man 07. Felafresh 08. Vulgarian Knights 09. Tex Ass 10. Happy Hour Musik Krause will release Vulgarian Knights on July 26th, 2010.
