  • German producer Uwe Schmidt will don his glitchiest alias, Atom TM, for a headlining slot at Dis-Patch 2010. Now in its ninth year, the two-weekend event in Belgrade covers a wide swath of the avant-garde, from noise music to art installations, with a few beats thrown in for good measure. Aside from Schmidt, electronic sounds will come from horror synth outfit Zombie Zombie and local jock DJ Moodswinger, plus a special edition of Dis-Patch's monthly bass party, Yardstyle. The rest of the bill is more abstract: Serbia's Piano Duo LP will perform Karlheinz Stockhausen's "Mantra," Carl Michael von Hausswolff will unleash some of his mind-melting drones and Australian experimental label Room40 will host their own showcase in celebration of their 10th anniversary. As in previous years, Dis-Patch will have its share of heady visual art as well. In addition to photography exhibits and "live digital murals," Barcelona-based artist Boris Hoppek will stay at the festival as an artist-in-resident to present a large-scale cardboard installation "dealing with the notion of the object of the church and its meaning in Western society."
