- The sequel to the 2007 mash-up opus is due for release next week.
Canadian turntable rocker A-Trak will release Dirty South Dance 2 this month on his own label, Fool's Gold.
The mix follows up 2007's Dirty South Dance, an electro-tinged romp that blended hip-hop and club bangers with seemingly effortless aplomb. The new CD follows a similar formula, kicking off with a mash-up of Soulja Boy's "All the Way Turnt Up" and Claude VonStroke's "Vocal Chords" and weaving through a total of 15 such concoctions. The mix features two guest appearances by Kid Sister, and boasts cover art by Shepard Fairey, who released the first Dirty South Dance on his Obey imprint.
