- The Balearic chill-out guru will release his next album in May.
Early next month, Cantoma (AKA Phil Mison) will release his next full-length, Out of Town, on Leng, a sublabel of Claremont 56.
Since the early '90s, Mison has been a stalwart of the Balearic scene. Having honed his sound at Cafe Del Mar in Ibiza, spinning through countless sunsets during the mid '90s, he later mixed dozens of compilations like 1996's The Original Chill Out Album. Out of Town will be his second full-length under his Cantoma moniker, and features eleven new sunkissed, downtempo groovers. There's plenty of live instrumentation scattered throughout, including trumpets, harp, guitar and violin, with Faze Action's Robin Lee even contributing his cello skills to closing cut, "Trees Of Highwood." In a surprising twist, Danny Rampling has also been drafted in to write the accompanying liner notes for the release.
