  • Synch festival have announced details for their annual festival in Athens this June, with Hot Chip, Peaches and Laurent Garnier's live band topping the bill. Now in its seventh year, Synch festival presents a unique blend of rock, electronic and experimental music. Other performers at this year's event include DJ Krush, Fuck Buttons, Busy P and Trus'me, as well as rock acts like BEAK> and A Place to Bury Strangers. Afro-beat legend Tony Allen will play live with Warp and Sähkö artist Jimi Tenor, and Alva Noto will perform with Blixa Bargeld, one of the founding members of proto-industrial outfit Einstürzende Neubauten. The program is also very friendly toward local artists, with around a dozen Greek bands and DJs scheduled to perform. Synch will once again take place at the fantastically named Technopolis, a former gas works in Athens' Gazi district. Each day of the festival runs until 5 AM, with after parties taking place at the various clubs surrounding the Kerameikos tube station.
