  • To Rococo Rot will launch their seventh studio album as part of this month's Ether festival in London. Ether is the Southbank Centre's annual series of events that brings together luminaries and celebrated newcomers from the spheres of art, music and technology, and Friday 23rd April's concert at the Queen Elizabeth Hall promises to be quite the show for followers of Berlin's electronic music scene. RA's Jon Dale recently hailed To Rococo Rot's recent Speculation album as "a welcome return," and the trio of Stefan Schneider and brothers Ronald and Robert Lippock will headline the show with their semi-improvisational synergy of acoustic and electronic sounds, no doubt recreating plenty of the music from Speculation. The album was recorded in the studio of Faust's Hans Jochen Irmler, and he will also travel to London to perform with the group as a special one-off collaboration. Also on the bill is current RA podcaster Thomas Fehlmann, who will bring his countless years of electronic music experience to the Southbank with one of his live sets. Vladislav Delay will also perform, while his wife Antje Greie AKA AGF will unveil her new collaborative project with Monika Enterprise boss Gudrun Gut, who was one of the early members of seminal experimentalists Einstürzende Neubauten. The rest of Ether's ninth year includes performances from Lou Reed's Metal Machine Trio, Gil Scott-Heron, Chris Cunningham, Broadcast, Chrome Hoof, and many others.
