  • Berlin Festival will take place this year over September 10th and 11th at the city's Tempelhof Airport. Shifting the action from August to September this year (presumably to coincide with the returning Popkomm) Berlin Festival will once again be setting themselves up at the crossroads between indie, pop and electronic for their fifth late summer soiree. Ticket holders will be granted access to the forums and workshops at Popkomm's B2C Day on the Friday, which itself runs from September 8th until 10th after a one year hiatus last year. Grabbing the attention from the initial wave of announcements is LCD Soundsystem and Karin Dreijer Anderson's Fever Ray, who will join Boys Noize (Boysnoize Records will host a stage) and 2manydjs at the 20,000 capacity party. Erol Alkan, D.I.M., Djedjotronic, Les Petits Pilous, Strip Steve & Das Glow will set up on a similarly crossover tip, while local lass Peaches will present the 'Peaches' Lazershow.' Although specifics surrounding the running order are yet to be determined, it has been announced that Christoph Ellinghaus' City Slang imprint will curate their own stage on the Friday, with the label's Caribou, Herman Dune and Port O'Brien all celebrating the label's 20 year run.
