  • Need2Soul will celebrate their sixth birthday on Saturday April 17th at London's Ministry Of Sound club. The party was conceived back in 2004 by Alex Ruello, who wanted to showcase the more soulful side of dance music, taking his main cues from US legends such as Larry Levan, Danny Krivit, and Francois K. It's Kevorkian who will return to the Need2Soul fold for their main stage invasion of Ministry, this time performing without the help of his Body & Soul compadres Krivit and Claussell. Detroit techno originator Juan Atkins is another electronic music luminary who's been secured for the bash, which should be their biggest since taking over room one of fabric back in '07. Jerome Sydenham and Need2Soul regular Benji B will complete the evening's main room line-up with their respective chunky tech and urban-tinged sounds, while lovers of house and disco will find plenty to get excited about elsewhere in the club. Over in 103 (which up until now has been known as The Bar), Sean Brosnan and his Future Disco brand will helm proceedings, inviting Glasgow-based sampling addict The Revenge to headline, with hedonistic disco troupe Crazy P and Chibuku resident Dom Chung providing support. London-based label and party Electric Minds—who have recently been focusing on their Arthur Russell covers compilation—will take control of the Loft space, with Yam Who? and Toby Tobias set to showcase their penchant for the electronic disco sound.
