- The two-part festival will celebrate female pioneers of early electronic music.
For the next two weekends, female pioneers of electronic music will be celebrated and showcased at Wie Es Ihr Gefällt (How She Likes It), a music festival at Pfefferberg and Maria am Ostbanhof.
Taking place as part of women's history month, the festival will focus on pioneers of electronic music as an experimental method of composition, not the sort of thing you'd hear in a nightclub. Performers include post-war era accordionist Pauline Oliveros, "Oramics" inventor Daphne Oram and American composer Maryanne Amacher, all of whom helped develop electronic music in its earliest stages of infancy. More contemporary acts will appear as well, such as multi-instrumentalist Angie Reed, formerly of the pop group Stereo Total, and Greie & Gut, a new collaboration between AGF and Gudrun Gut, the latter of whom cut her teeth with German experimental outfit Einstürzende Neubauten.
The festival will start on Saturday, March 13th at Pfefferberg, and carry on the following night at the same venue. The second half of the festival, on March 19th and 20th, will take place at Maria am Ostbanhof.
