- The eccentric pop artist will play live in Berlin this weekend.
Critically acclaimed pop experimentalist Max Tundra will perform in Kreuzberg this weekend at West Berlin, a punk venue on Skalitzer Straße.
The London-based artist is known for his meticulously crafted, highly unorthodox pop songs, which have seen release on Warp and Domino Records. His music is at once ironic and sincere, with keyboard sounds echoing early-'90s Nintendo games while his lyrics recount painful details of failed relationships. In concert, Tundra is a whirlwind of a one-man show, singing, managing loops, and grabbing whatever instrument his next tune demands, be it a xylophone, a melodica, or a Fender Stratocaster. He'll appear at West Berlin with The Chap, a lo-fi indie-rock band on Ghostly International, who will be eschewing their usual live set to DJ some of their current favourite records.
