- The Hospital Records sub-label will release a new compilation next month showcasing a raft of fresh signings.
Med School will bring on board fourteen new producers for their forthcoming New Blood 010 compilation.
Med School was founded as a Hospital Records sub-label back in '06, and has been used in order to push a deeper and more experimental drum & bass angle than the main imprint. While Med School flirted with the idea of bringing a bunch of fresh artists in with 2008's New Blood EP, they'll do it on a much grander scale this time around. The likes of Pryzma, Kharm, Circa, Enei and Joe Syntax will all make their debut Med School appearances, while Synkro and DJ Madd will eschew their usual dubstep tempo in order to experiment with the spacious sounds that have recently been pushed by Instra:mental and dBridge. While the CD release features twelve exclusive tracks, the vinyl double pack will contain just four select cuts to maximise the pressing quality. Of the four, Enei offer the most raucous track with "Z Trip," Circa pushes a skittering but soulful junglist vibe, and Stray and Synkro go for more of a lush minimal sound.
