  • Leftfield have been named amongst the headliners for this year's RockNess festival in Scotland, which takes place from June 11-13. Although initial reports that were circulating stated that the duo of Neil Barnes and Paul Daley were to reform for the series of summer shows, it has now been confirmed that the Leftfield dates throughout 2010 will feature Barnes playing on his own. Paul Daley has released a statement to inform fans that he is "about to embark on a solo career with the release of my first solo album. I also want to continue concentrating on my DJing work, so I've decided I won't be joining Neil on stage for the Leftfield dates this year." Barnes himself claims to be relishing the forthcoming performances, stating that, "The opportunity to take the band out again once more with the sound system and some of the original singers and perform the songs again to a whole new audience is an opportunity that I simply couldn't turn down." RockNess are certainly so stranger to booking nostalgic electronic acts, with Orbital featuring on last year's line-up, but the entire event will see a wide range of rock and dance acts take to the stage, with Fatboy Slim and The Strokes announced as co-headliners alongside Barnes. The other coup that festival organisers have managed to pull off is the debut UK show of Club 75, which is Ed Banger boss Busy P's back-to-back supergroup with Justice, Cassius and DJ Mehdi. For the moment, the electronic music line-up focuses firmly on the favourite acts of many electro-house and nu-rave fans, with 2 Many DJs, Vitalic, Boys Noize, Annie Mac and The Japanese Popstars set to perform, although minor concessions have been made for those looking for a bit of electronic disco (Aeroplane) or dubstep and drum & bass (Chase & Status).
