Dirtybird to release birthday compilation

- The SF label will release a three-disc CD package this April to celebrate their fifth anniversary.
- Five years since they put out their first record, Dirtybird has put together a career-spanning compilation package to be released this April. Entitled Dirtybird 5, the package will contain three discs: The Past, The Present and The Future. The Past comprises many of the tracks that made the label famous, while The Future premieres new and unreleased songs by Dirtybird staples like Claude VonStroke Justin Martin and Sascha Braemer, as well as newly signed artists like Hickup, KiNK and Jacob Seville. On The Present, Justin Martin mixes up more than twenty tracks from the Dirtybird repertoire, busting out classics like VonStroke’s "Who's Afraid of Detroit?" alongside new cuts like his own "Robot Romance." And, as we reported yesterday, Bay Area fans will have a special opportunity to hear Martin's mix a month early, as Mezzanine will open an hour early on Dirtybird's birthday specifically for this purpose, while serving free shots of tequila to boot.
