  • Nitzer Ebb will end their fifteen year studio hiatus at the end of January. The group enjoyed both critical and commercial success in the late '80s and early '90s with their mix of punk aesthetics and raw electronics, becoming popular in a wide range of clubbing communities. Whether in the Belgian New Beat and EBM scene or in the sets of Detroit techno artists, the band's striking and visceral sound assured them a place in the annals of both electronic and rock music. Following the release of their 1995 album Big Hit, the band members went their separate ways to pursue side projects such as Recoil, 13mg and Maven, but came together again in '05 and have toured irregularly ever since. At the end of last year, Nitzer Ebb revealed that they would be taking copies of a new record on tour with them to sell to fans due to having difficulty finding a record deal, but Germany's Major Records have now picked the album up and will distribute it internationally. Martin Gore of Depeche Mode—himself a fellow Essex boy—has contributed backing vocals on both "Once You Say" and "Payroll," while you may have heard the tenebrous tones of "Never Known" on the soundtrack to Saw IV. The Major Records version will also come with a bonus CD of remixes from Terence Fixmer and Depeche Mode's Alan Wilder amongst others. Tracklist 01. Promises 02. Once You Say 03. Never Known 04.
