- A composition for six signal generators will close a showcase of the early electronic music pioneer's work next week.
- On January 16, the first-ever comprehensive showcase of the work of Ursula Bogner, an early electronic music dilettante, will come to an end with a performance of "Schleusen," her composition for six signal generators. Championed by Jan Jelinek, the Faitiche label boss best known for his work with ~scape and Klang Elektronik, Bogner's incredible story of producing electronic music as a private but deeply involved hobby in the '60s has spurred more than a few rumors that Bogner's tale is a ruse for more of Jelinek's own productions. Further fanning the flames? Jelinek had a "faked reissue of a more or less well-known band" planned for Faitiche when RA spoke to him last, and has helpfully defined his label's name as "a combination of facts and fetishes, mak[ing] it obvious that the two have a common element of fabrication." Whatever the truth, though, Jelinek will help perform "Schleusen" at the Laura Mars Gallery in Berlin, along with Mo Loschelder, Andrew Pekler, Holger Zapf, Kassian von Troyer and Tim Tetzner. Four of Bogner's previously unreleased tracks have also been pressed into 7-inch vinyl for the occasion, adding to the producer's small body of work.
