  • Michael Mayer is set to headline Kompakt's latest label showcase in Barcelona this Friday. The German electronic music powerhouse has hosted countless events at the ex-Apollo Theatre, including a fair few off-Sonar parties, and they'll be using the space once more this weekend. Kompakt co-founder Michael Mayer will be leading the charge behind the decks, and he'll be joined by the label's cheeky South American cohort, Matias Aguayo. Aguayo has recently released his second solo full-length, Ay Ay Ay, on the imprint, seeing him offer his own take on the street-carnival aesthetic of his Cómeme label and BumBumBox parties. Attendees can expect him to be in a similarly colourful mood as he plays one of his enhanced DJ sets, seeing him add live electronic drums and vocals to his pleasantly deranged selection of records. Support will come from Nitsa resident DJ Fra (who is one half of Ferenc, the duo responsible for Kompakt's 2003 hit "Yes Sir, I Can Hardcore") and Juan B.
