  • Leeds' Back To Basics club will raise a glass to eighteen years of clubbing with a party on Saturday 28th November. If you're into your house and techno, the chances are that you'll have heard of Back To Basics, the party responsible for many a hangover over the course of its long and illustrious career. Helmed by electronic music aficionado Dave Beer, the party has been responsible for bringing some of the biggest and best DJs to the Yorkshire city on a regular basis, and it doesn't look like they're going to stop any time soon. For this year's birthday bash at My House they'll be bringing back honorary resident Andrew Weatherall for yet another appearance, and this time he'll be bringing along his Wrong Meeting cohort Ivan Smagghe for the ride. When the duo are playing in a peak-time capacity, both favour a dark and trippy maximalist style, and you can be sure that they'll be pulling out plenty of suitably banging tracks during their headlining slots. Joining them on the bill will be Yorkshire-based indie types The Sunshine Underground and The Pigeon Detectives, who will both be digging deep into their collections for their respective DJ sets. Of course, it wouldn't be a Back To Basics without their crack team of residents, with Buckley, Ralph Lawson, James Holroyd, and Tristan De Cunha all joining Dave Beer behind the decks on the night.
