The festival will be headlined by the US premiere of the group, but is set to feature much, much more.
Moritz Von Oswald Trio headlines the action-packed line-up of the first edition of Unsound Festival New York.
Unsound, which recently concluded its fourth week-long edition in Poland, has turned its sights to New York City for February, enlisting the help of local promoters to put together a festival that should bring a number of premieres and special performances to the city. Perhaps the biggest news for electronic music fans is the aforementioned US premiere of the Moritz Von Oswald Trio. Throughout the 11 day festival, however, there will be plenty to whet the appetite, including premieres from the likes of Newworldaquarium, tobias., Kadebostan, Untold, TRG and Petre Inspirescu.
Carl Craig and nsi. will perform live soundtracks at Lincoln Center to Andy Warhol's "Blow Job" and "Kiss" respectively, while Radian, Tape, Tim Hecker and Mountains will play live at Le Poisson Rouge later on in the week. Local promoters Beyond Booking have the cream of the "proper" dance music crop with three nights at their usual haunt, Public Assembly, which will feature many of the aforementioned names as well as Pole, Legowelt, Anthony 'Shake' Shakir and Mike Huckaby, among many others.
