  • Cooly G is set to appear for the first time in Germany this month. The London-based Hyperdub signing has already won herself a strong following after just one single on the label and a clutch of self-released CD-Rs, taking the percussive style of UK funky and merging it with more soulful US house-oriented production ethics. She'll be headlining the Club Udon party, which takes place on Thursday November 19th at Edelweiss, with support coming from Berlin-based DJ Zhao and Manchester's Curve DJ, the latter of which is an employee at internationally renowned online record store Boomkat. Fans expecting a set of purely UK funky from Cooly may be disappointed, as she's known for mixing up the newer UK-oriented style with plenty of more traditional house and tech-house from both sides of the Atlantic. However, it'll most certainly be a chance to check out plenty of unreleased productions, both from herself and other UK funky cohorts.
