  • Luke Slater has supplied new music for the Egopoint show later this month, which combines techno with contemporary ballet. If you've been following Slater for the last few years then you'll know that he's no stranger to this kind of project, contributing the final track for Ostgut Ton's Shut Up And Dance! Updated CD, which was accompanied by specially choreographed dances from Berlin's Staatsballet when it was performed live at Berghain. This month's performance will again be in tandem with Staatsballet members, with principal soloist Nadja Saidakova undertaking the choreography for the entire piece. This will be her largest work to date, with a total of nine dancers (three female, six male) under her control. Instead of the murky surroundings of Berghain, the show will take place in Berlin's plush Haus Der Berliner Festspiele, with the theatre seating just over 1000 people. Russian ex-pat Lena Lukjanova will take care of the set design and lighting for the evening. Slater's "Symphony For The Surrealists" track for the Ostgut compilation mixed up intermittent percussion, radio static, detached voices, and eerie electronics to create a multi-sectioned mix of ambient and techno, so attendees should expect something similar when the performance takes place on Saturday 28th November.
