  • East London's T Bar will join forces with Jay Haze next week to raise funds for his ongoing DJs for DRC campaign. As we reported earlier in the year, Tuning Spork and Contexterrior boss Jay Haze has pledged to donate half of his DJing fees from September through to December in order to raise funds for groups who "provide health care, medicine, treatment for rape victims and access to clean water for the Democratic Republic of the Congo's citizens." Haze has asked his peers in the industry to join in the effort as well, challenging them to donate half of their fee from a single gig in order to further the cause of charities working in the country. On Thursday 8th October, DJs For DRC will roll into the T Bar for a night dedicated to raising funds and awareness for the scheme. Joining Haze will be Rekids and Music For Freaks' Luke Solomon, and Tim Rustow. Although entry to the T Bar is usually free, a compulsory donation (however large or small) will be required for entry, giving attending revellers the chance to both dance, and make a bit of a difference in the DRC.
