  • San Francisco's Lovefest will undergo a rebranding for this year's event, with LovEvolution becoming the new name of the festival going forward. Now in its sixth year, the festival has come to celebrate a wide variety of electronic dance music throughout the first weekend in October, and next month's event will be no different. The central focus as usual will be Saturday's free parade, which in past years has had an attendance of over 100,000 people. Sixteen different floats will be rolling through the parade route showcasing a multitude of musical styles, with house (The Martinez Brothers), dubstep (Cotti, Matty G), trance (ATB) and tech-house (Craig Richards, Lee Burridge, Danny Howells) all being represented. Revellers looking to catch their favourite DJs in slightly more intimate confines will also be catered to, as many of the bigger acts will also be playing at various parties before and after the main event. Friday will see Burridge and Richards go back-to-back as Tyrant at Club 525, while people searching for something a bit bigger will be catered for by the For The Lo?e party which hosts the likes of Green Velvet, Santiago & Bushido, Diz, and hometown house hero Mark Farina. After finishing up on his float on the Saturday, Danny Howells will go on to play a special five-hour set on a 16.1 surround sound system to just 150 people, although location and entry details are being kept under wraps for the moment. An easier option might be to head over to the Om Records party at Mezzanine, which will showcase a wealth of local house music talent as well as a headlining performance from Chicago's DJ Heather. If you're still going at 6am on Monday morning, then you might be glad to know that the party is only just starting over at The End Up. The venue's The Morning After The Love bash has become quite the institution over the past few years, attracting some of the hottest stars that have played throughout the weekend for a party that steams on through until Monday night. This time around the organisers are keeping their cards close to their chest, with only Craig Richards and Bill Patrick being announced so far. Tickets for the Friday's Tyrant party can be purchased directly from RA Tickets.
