  • Mulletover have announced the full line-up for this year's Halloween bash, with Lee Burridge set to take top billing. Halloween has been big on Mulletover's promoting agenda since their '07 event with We Love..., and that's set to continue with this year's triple-roomed bash on Friday October 31st. As is the usual Mulletover tradition, the event will be held in a secret London warehouse space that will be revealed to ticket holders on the eve of the party. Burridge will be joined in the main room by Frankfurt's Meat, who is the owner of the city's celebrated Freebase record shop, and has also collaborated with the likes of Einzelkind and Chris Wood on releases for the Get Physical and Kindisch labels. Infant Records boss Simon Baker and Mulletover founder Geddes will also be bringing the tech house vibes alongside Burridge and Meat. Meanwhile, a double whammy of Horse Meat Disco and Studio 54 resident Kenny Carpenter ensures that room two will be all about slinky vintage disco, while those seeking out a alternate dancing option in a more electronic vein can check out Leeds' Back2Basics crew, who'll be playing all night in room three. Fancy dress is encouraged for all attendees, and it seems like some of the DJs will even be getting involved. We spoke to Lee Burridge about his costume, upcoming birthday and his favourite Halloween moment.
If I’m correct, you’ll be celebrating your birthday a few days after the bash. Seeing as last year's was the big 40, are you planning on doing anything grand, or is it just going to be a quiet one? Quiet is my middle name... Your Halloween shows have all been in the US over the past few years. Do you have any amusing tales to tell, and do you expect your English Hallows' eve to be much different? As you mentioned, Halloween is right around my birthday, which always means a big weekend for me. The kind of weekend that ends on Tuesday or Wednesday, when you look like you're still wearing a Halloween mask even though it's your own face. Last year I was wondering (for hours) what the huge pile of laundry was on my sofa that people had been sitting on until it woke up. It was the promoter asleep in her bundled up clothes. Sorry Gunita! I must add that my vision was a little impaired at this point, if you know what I mean. I think one of my favourite Halloween tales was ending up with only Bill Patrick and Camille. Everyone else had passed out and we had run out of everything one needs to party apart from weed, so we decided to smoke a joint. For some unknown reason Bill's mouth stopped working and he got all freaked out that he couldn’t pronounce the two words "Iraqi War." He tried and tried and tried but constantly failed. "IWAKI WAAAAAAH" kept coming out of his mouth for about ten minutes. He gave one last monumental try with much concentration and thought and said..... "IWAKI WAH." He looked totally pleased with himself as he thought he had nailed it. Camille and I, however, were laughing with tears rolling down our faces. Have you thought about your costume at all yet? I have several in mind, but am leaning towards my yellow two-piece ladies suit with embroidered bees and beehive mixed up with the yellow hard hat and wig. It's bad ass. From what I've heard, you tend to be thoughtful about working referential tracks into your sets. Do you have any personal classics that will be sure to shock the crowd? I am? Err... Definitely... I totally do, but it's a secret. OK, not really, but now I supposed I'll have to. Thanks for the extra pressure. Craig Richards is oddly absent from Fabric's line-up on the same night. What are the chances of him rearing his head behind the booth on the 31st? That's news to me. If he shows up it will be a surprise for me too. Come on Craig, it is my birthday! Wait... I just spoke to Craig and he’s actually going to be in New York. D'oh!
