  • The line-up for Sydney New Year's Day festival Field Day has been announced. As per usual, electro is the main agenda, with an additional splattering of hip-hop, indie and breaks. This time around, dubstep is even making an appearance, perhaps further confirming the crossover appeal of the genre, and the impact it has made on Australian audiences. The line-up doesn't come as a huge surprise, as it was announced earlier this month that the majority of the artists appearing would be in the country for various other festival performances. Seminal electro brothers 2 Many DJs will be headlining, and leading the electro charge, alongside The Presets, Sebastien Leger and The Proxy. The several live acts set to appear include The Juan Maclean, Datarock and Diplo and Switch's Major Lazer Soundsystem project. Nic Fanciulli and Riton represent the small house contingent, while Skream and Benga will be bringing their world-famous brand of dubstep to the Sydney crowd. Lyrics Born and Amanda Blank will be representing on the hip-hop front. Additional artists in DJ mode include fidget kid Sinden, UK's Yoda and LCD Soundsystem.
