Electric Frog hit the streets

- Stacey Pullen, Theo Parrish and Tim Sweeney are all set to play at Optimo and Numbers' upcoming Glasgow street party.
- Glaswegian promoters Optimo and Numbers are set to join forces for their Electric Frog Street Carnival later this month. JD Twitch and Wilkes' Optimo parties have been a regular fixture for the city's Sunday clubbers since 1997, wowing audiences with their constantly surprising musical twists and turns. The Numbers collective are relative newcomers in comparison, having just celebrated six years of their raw and eclectic parties, but their level of respect on the local and international scene means that they're the perfect fit for this ambitious venture, which takes place on Sunday 30th August. Numbers residents and co-founders of the Wireblock label Jackmaster and Spencer will be looking after the main outdoor stage on Yorkhill’s Eastvale Place, and have brought over some premium house and techno talent from the US for the occasion. Stacey Pullen and Theo Parrish will be representing their respective Detroit techno and house vibes, while Chicago's crate digging king DJ Rahaan will be pushing the disco and house style that he's made his name with. UK funky pioneer Roska rounds off the bill for the outdoor stage, but there'll be plenty more on offer inside the SWG3 venue, which will be helmed by the Optimo chaps. Fellow Glaswegiens Den Haan will be pumping out the Italo, with Million Dollar Disco's Al Kent showcasing more of a traditional late '70s disco style, while revellers looking for something a bit wonkier should be satisfied by Floating Points' forward-thinking house and UK garage. The indoor arena will be headlined, however, by Optimo favourites Tim Sweeney and Tim Goldsworthy, who'll be performing a tag-team DJ set which should feature plenty of unreleased DFA material.
