  • As the British summer comes to an unofficial end over the upcoming Bank Holiday weekend, the Snowbombing Festival crew will be looking ahead to frosty frolics as they launch Snowbombing 2010 in London on Monday August 31st. Most of the city's inhabitants will be indulging in outdoor BBQs, raves and the Caribbean street party vibe of Notting Hill Carnival at the end of August, but the Snowbombers will be willing on the winter during their 12-hour party, with a little help from a snow machine on the garden terrace. While the lineup for Snowbombing 2010 is yet to be announced, the launch party in West London's Masons Arms boasts DJ sets from Justin Robertson, Jon Carter, The Whip and Snowbombing programmer Marc Roberts throughout the venue's three rooms, plus an unannounced "extra special guest." Heading into its 11th year, Snowbombing is unique on the festival calendar for its week-long program of parties that take place in forest clearings, wooden farmsteads and mountaintop igloos. Situated in an idyllic Austrian village in the valley of Mayrhofen, Snowbombing's winter/spring scheduling promises late-winter snow dumps, spring sunshine and seven days of DJs, bands and label club nights. Snowbombing 2010's new website and tickets for the festival will both go online a day after the launch party.
