  • Danny Krivit is set to release a mix for Nervous Records next month. Krivit made his name during the disco fever of the '70s when, after befriending some of New York's most celebrated disco DJs, he embarked on his own quest to bring his musical vision to the city's party people. His four year residency at the Roxy helped to propel his career forward, and he's carried on the same track since then, editing records for the likes of James Brown and even joining up with Francois K and Joe Claussell for their Body and Soul parties. The forthcoming mix, which shares the name of Danny's 718 Sessions parties, will be Krivit's first commercial mix outing in four years, and will focus on his disco-influenced house direction. Including tracks from Earth People, Louie Vega and Kings Of Tomorrow as well as a pure disco selection from BT Express (Larry Levan favourite "Peace Pipe"), the CD will likely appeal to listeners who enjoy a bit of organic funk with their house music.
