- The Detroit producer will release his third studio album in October.
DJ 3000 is shaping up to release his latest artist album, Galactic Caravan, in October.
Hailing from the Hamtramck enclave of Detroit, the influence the Motor City bestowed upon Albanian decedent DJ 3000 for both his 2006 debut Migration, and 2007's Blood and Honey was palpable. Set for a full international release through his own Motech imprint in October (the LP has been available in Japan through the Underground Gallery label since April), DJ 3000's latest offering is said to expand upon his work to date, blending uplifting tones, broken beats and traditional Detroit sounds, which is pretty accurate on the basis of the sneak peek we've heard. Just as a gentle warning, second track "Meridian" samples Ricardo Villalobos' 2008 child-chant "Enfants" (or Christian Vander's "Baba Yaga La Sorcière" if we're being fussy), which is likely to delight and disgust in equal measures.
